Lorenda Holston

Assistant Athletics Director, Access, Opportunity, & Diversity
Biography

Lorenda joined the Hawkeyes family in July 2022 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Access, Opportunity, and Diversity. In this role she serves to support and advocate for the holistic development of student-athletes and enhance the overall Hawkeye experience for students and staff. Holston joins the Iowa staff from Purdue University, where she served as Student-Athlete Development Associate. She previously served as the Academic Support Coordinator for Men's Football at Georgia Tech. While completing her master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, she served the Colorado State University's Athletic department as the Graduate Assistant for Diversity & Inclusion creating programs that foster community, fellowship, and spark courageous conversations. Holston was a track & field student-athlete at Colorado State University. She moved into support services upon graduation, initially as a Student-Athlete Support Services intern. While a student-athlete, Holston earned All-America honors and broke the school record and Mountain West Conference record in the 60-meter hurdles, holding both records at 8.06.
