Liz Tovar currently serves as Senior Associate Athletics Director for student-athlete academic student services, a role she has served in since August 2013. She joined the Iowa athletics staff after serving as Associate Athletics Director of student-athlete academic support services at Northern Illinois. She previously worked in student-athlete academic services at The Ohio State University and the University of Kansas. Tovar earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. Tovar also serves as executive officer and associate vice president for the Division of Access, Opportunity, and Diversity since February 2021, and is member of the president’s cabinet.
